Digital Learning and Media Facilitator

Job Description:
To serve as the key digital learning and library media program specialist for D.
F.
Walker
Elementary School.
This position combines the roles of an Instructional Technology Facilitator
and School Library Media Coordinator to produce a curriculum leadership role, whereby the
position directly impacts student achievement through digital teaching and learning and media
initiatives in the school building, and district as needed.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s Degree with Teacher Licensure.
? NC 076 license for Media Coordinator and/or NC 077 license for Instructional
Technology Specialist Computers.
? Master’s Degree in Digital Teaching and Learning, Instructional Technology, and/or
Library Science .
Responsibilities:
Library-Media Program:
? Develops in collaboration with the district Chief Technology Officer a vision for
implementation of an effective school library media program.
? Plans and facilitates the maintenance and continual evolution of the School Library
Media Program and collections, including an increase in digital resources and
personalized, anytime, anywhere access.
? Creates a model learning commons space for teachers and students alike, taking into
account current research and trends on Learning Spaces and Makerspaces.
? Collaborates and co-teaches regularly with teachers on special curriculum projects as
requested, in addition to teaching research skills for students using the BIG 6 model as
needed.
? Works with school staff to design and implement short-
range plans and long-range plans
to ensure balance among teaching, digital learning, collaboration, collection
development, and program management.
? Provides leadership in implementing and supporting literacy programs.
Plans and Facilitates Digital and Personalized Teaching and Learning:
? Develops, in collaboration with the district Chief Technology Officer and the district
Digital Learning Coach, a vision for implementation of the Digital Learning Plan and
Digital Learning Competencies.
? Models, coaches, and co-teaches with teachers on purposeful design in the planning
process, using curricular frameworks and concepts such as: ? Design Thinking ? SAMR,
TPACK, and ISTE digital learning frameworks ? Blended Learning ? 1:1 Devices
? Models data-
driven decision making under the guidance of school and district
leadership, continuously seeking opportunities to improve teaching and learning with
technology and media programs in the school and district.
? Plans and facilitates professional development on the school and district level in the
areas of digital learning and media in collaboration with the school and district
leadership.
? Meets with district directors regularly to plan digital learning and media initiatives for the
school and district.
? Supports the implementation of the SCS Curriculum Framework and Strategic Plan,
leveraging expertise in digital and media learning.
? Works closely with PLCs to encourage use of data-
driven instructional improvement
technologies to support student achievement.
Other Responsibilities:
? Leads, with the Principal and the district administration, in the ongoing evaluation of the
effectiveness of the school and district-
wide digital learning and media programs.
? Collaborates and/or takes the lead on additional projects as directed by the Principal and
by the Chief Technology Officer.
? Prepares and submits accurate reports for Technology inventory and the NCDLMI as
required.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated by the Principal and the Chief Technology Officer against
the ITF/SLMC Evaluation Standards from NCDPl.
