Job Title: Survey Director/Manager

Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing multidisciplined Survey and SUE department and providing technical guidance.
Ability to provide supervision and guidance to field crews and office staff and communicate with client representatives and management.
Coordinates, organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work while ensuring schedule and commitments are met.
Provides progress and activity reports to management.
Performs in-process quality review of survey field activities, legal descriptions, maps, aerial photographs, calculations, and other diverse types of project deliverables.
Establishes processes to meet quality standards.
Monitors work practices to identify concerns or issues that do not meet these quality standards.
Oversees all survey deliverables that allows for the accurate execution of a project over the life cycle of the project.
Advanced knowledge and insight into identifying and utilizing correct technology, equipment and tools needed for the department.
Prepares and oversees proposal development and quotes.
Reviews contracts and ensures adherence to requirements.
Ensures the safe execution of all work activities and ensures adherence to our safety regulations to protect all individuals.
Monitors, inspects and ensures subcontractors are performing the work safely, are adhering to schedule, and are producing quality work in line with subcontractor agreements and our client contract obligations.
Communicates with clients pertaining to specific projects and attends client meetings.
Train staff in operations, policies and procedures.
Conducts employee performance appraisals and mentors less experienced team members.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering, Land Surveying or related field from an accredited program
Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience managing all types of survey and SUE projects.
Must be Professional Land Surveyor in Georgia, other states licenses are desirable.
Georgia Department of transportation experience required.
Requires broad based knowledge of all phases of land surveying including boundary analysis, topography, GPS, 3D laser scanning, and construction layout services
Experience in managing field and office staff as well as project management.
Extensive knowledge of Survey equipment and software, and other essential equipment for field and office work
Stays up to date regarding new methods, standards, regulations, and developments affecting the organization, and recommends new practices.
High proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D software, Leica LGO/Infinity, Leica robotic total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
Experience in Trimble Business Center, Microstation, Geopack, and OpenRoads software.
