· Nine-Month Position with consistent summer work/projects.
· Serve as the School’s Graduate Program’s Director.
· Contribute to and provide leadership in strategic planning, annual reporting, program review, and graduate assessment.
· Lead professional development for faculty including overseeing the mentoring program · Maintain budget for graduate assistantships in consultation with the College and Director · Lead graduate student recruitment, retention, and advising in collaboration with the Director and faculty · Review the School’s website to ensure information and links are current and accurate.

· Serve as the School’s GCC Liaison and work with the School’s Graduate Committee and faculty to develop curriculum proposals/packages · In consultation with the Director of the School of Communication and the Graduate Committee of the School: oversee standards for theses; oversee graduate faculty status standards and applications; solicit needs for graduate assistantships, and track appropriate use of appointment; assign and award graduate assistantships, other financial awards · Coordinate the School of Communication graduate program activities including orientation and professional development opportunities with the East Carolina University Graduate School and other entities when needed · Advocate for the School of Communication graduate program with the College of Fine Arts and Communication and East Carolina University Graduate School.
· Notify graduate students of faculty and committee meetings and other opportunities to participate in and/or observe school governance, as appropriate · Work with College staff to maintain relationships with current and future graduate alumni, including prompt email, written, voice, and in-person communication · Communicate with appropriate University and College staff to ensure all ECU policies and regulations are followed · Contribute to School planning, events, and communication as needed · Other responsibilities as assigned Minimum Education/Experience · Terminal degree in communication · Tenured ECU faculty at the rank of Associate Professor or higher in the School of Communication · Evidence of strong professional communication and collaboration skills · Demonstrated ability to complete administrative tasks within the School of Communication License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N/A Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Demonstrated ability to balance teaching, research/creative activity, and administrative/service Demonstrated experience in graduate curriculum development Demonstrated experience in recruitment and retention of students Demonstrated knowledge of graduate admissions and registration policies, regulations, and procedures Demonstrated leadership experience in academe and the discipline License or Certification Required by the Department Special Instructions to Applicant Applicants must complete a candidate profile.
