Position Summary Coordinates clinic operations and assist providers by performing vital signs, patient questionnaire intake, data entry and medical records management.
Assists with and provides patient care services and customer services as necessary.
Maintains all patient care related documentation in hard copy and/or electronic medical records.
Must demonstrate skill in clinical duties such as vitals, health history and other clinical duties as directed by clinicians.
Possesses time management skills and the ability to manage and perform multiple tasks and assist patients and providers as necessary.
Responsibilities Perform clinical support services as needed within department: A.
Assist providers and nurses with patient care services in clinic.
B.
Perform health screening questionnaires and vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, BMI, etc.
C.
Collect health risk appraisals and/or patient histories.
D.
Assist with preparation and dissemination of health education materials.
E.
Perform other clinical functions as directed by providers, nurses, and or per written and approved protocols.
F.
CPR certification, able to provide patient emergency assistance.
G.
Review and update home medication list with patient and provider H.
Process medication and equipment prescriptions (both new and refill) for pharmacy and durable medical equipment company fulfillment.
Coordinate clinic operations: A.
Perform customer service duties with courtesy and tact (such as inbound and outbound calls, greeting and assisting customers, responding to customer requests, efforts to achieve patient/customer satisfaction).
B.
Promote positive image of the facility and services.
C.
Assist with the navigation of patients to appropriate services.
D.
Prepare patient charts, forms, patient notifications, calls and mailings.
E.
Maintain and verify consistency and accuracy of patient documentation in timely manner using appropriate medical records, EMR, documentation and filing system.
F.
Demonstrate and maintain proficiency in the operation of computer software systems required to perform tasks/responsibilities.
G.
Assist with insurance verification and medication authorization, prior authorizations, and processing.
H.
Practice and support policies, procedures, protocols as well as quality and safety controls.
Contribute to quality and process improvements.
I.
Assist with operational issues and provides staff coverage for clinic.
J.
Organize, monitor and stock supplies for clinic.
K.
Compile reports, summaries and letters as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Requirements High School graduate or equivalent.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification One of the 2 certifications are required: 1.
Certified medical assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) 2.
Registered medical assistant through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) Preferred one or more years experience in a clinical or medical office setting.
