The Clinical Therapist will provide comprehensive treatment services to adults and children who have experienced trauma.
These services will include extensive psycho-social assessments, testing, development of comprehensive treatment plans, coordination with involved agencies, and provision of intensive trauma treatment.
Treatment provided will include long and short-term individual, family and play therapy, and psychoeducational sessions.
The Clinical Therapist will serve as a member of the center’s multidisciplinary team and participate in weekly staffing meetings to provide feedback and treatment recommendations for children seen for medical evaluation.
The Clinical Therapist will provide consultation as needed to the other staff members on complex cases in regard to mental health assessment and treatment.
The Clinical Therapist will provide training to students and community mental health providers on an as needed basis.
The Clinical Therapist will engage in family advocacy through court testimony and attendance to outside agency reviews is provided on an as needed basis.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center.
ECU Health Medical Center is the flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment.
Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation Certification to practice as a certified or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) will also be considered.
All licenses must be current with their respective Board and unrestricted.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Preference will be given to candidate with 4+ years of therapeutic counseling experience in mental health service field.
Training and experience with crisis intervention, child and adult trauma, and family violence is desired.
Specific experience with assessment and treatment for trauma is preferred.
License or Certification required by the Department Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) will also be considered.
All licenses must be current with their respective Board and unrestricted.
